The Story Behind the Lens
From the late 1980s through the mid-2010s, my mother-in-law and father-in-law were true snowbirds, trading the harsh Canadian winters for a second home in Clearwater, Florida. For the better part of three decades, their house served as a seasonal sanctuary. As time allowed—especially toward the end of their time there—our family would make our way down south to join them. Captured in April 2011, this photograph is a nostalgic reminder of those visits, perfectly preserving the soft, pastel hues so characteristic of a Florida sunset.
